There are numerous bridges between Israel, Germany and our school in Uganda. Without Gerlind's experiences in Israel and the visit of Israeli tropical medicine specialists in Kiboga, the school would probably not exist.
But even more important for us is the significance of God's history with Israel. Much of what we believe and practice in Christianity has its roots in Judaism. The Feast of Tabernacles is not just a harvest festival, it is above all a reminder that God's dream is to live among us. Israel experienced this in the desert when they left Egypt. As human beings, we followers of Jesus are a house of God that HE loves to live in (1 Peter 2:5). His dream will come true in a great, eternal future. The Feast of Tabernacles points to this.
